The island fuelling Tasmania's newest wilderness battle | ABC News

Police are investigating vandalism and stolen property at a remote Tasmanian island that's become the centre of a new battle over the state's wilderness.

The number of exclusive leases handed to businesses for protected Tasmanian land has more than doubled since the Liberal Government came to power in 2014.

A proposal for a luxury camp at the remote Lake Malbena is one of the most controversial.
