World’s biggest chocolate egg sets 1978 world record | RetroFocus

This monstrosity at a Melbourne shopping centre once held the Guinness World Record for the biggest chocolate egg. Standing 3.1m high with a 7.6cm wall of solid chocolate, it wasn’t winning any beauty contests. Even ABC reporter Yvonne Cooks seemed a little underwhelmed, as she pondered the size of the rabbit required to deliver it.

This story aired on ABC News on 16 March 1978. The record is now held by Italian chocolatiers Tosca.
